"S-Sir, it was me! I was the one who made the mess!" [Name] suddenly stepped in with arms spread wide open in front of Diana, as though he would be able to protect her... like how he always did. The redhead's sobs became stifled with the back of her sleeve as Mr.Hoffman regarded the boy with an irritable click of the tongue.
"So it was you?" He questioned before taking one step closer to scrutinize him. "Or perhaps, you're lying when Diana is clearly the one at fault! Step aside this instant! I am not done with her!" Mr.Hoffman bellowed out, only for [Name] to remain motionless.
"Please... Diana had nothing to do with this, honest!" He continued to plead with him.
Each and every time, she could not understand. It was constant, but [Name] never failed to jump to her defense and do these things... all for her sake. Above all else, however, she believed that she didn't need to be saved, yet regardless, [Name] was always there, like some disgusting knight in shining armor.
But because she was so scared of Mr.Hoffman, Diana could never quite scream out for the man to stop hitting and yelling at him. She just stood there with tears stinging past her cheeks as she silently willed Mr.Hoffman to leave.
"H-Hey... you alright?"
And when he finally did by giving up on her with [Name] being beaten to a bloody pulp, Diana just pushed him away, even though it killed her on the inside.
"What are you, stupid? I've already told you... I don't need you! Now, just stay there while I get help."
And with that, she strode out of the room while ignoring how her heart continued to beat a mile per second.
Above all else, though, she hated this feeling, hated how [Name] made her feel so vulnerable by falling for him. Either way, she refused to accept it when she's supposed to break his heart into tiny little pieces and so, Diana will never forgive Clara if she couldn't heal [Name]... her precious [Name].
Then came the day where she would never forget.
On that day, Diana became mad with jealousy over seeing [Name]'s beautiful smile, which was meant to be hers, around that filthy, filthy Jennifer.
"Ugh! You two-timing jerk! I... was wrong about you!" She remembered blurting out before scurrying off with a bitter heaviness in her chest. Even when Jennifer expressed concern, the redhead could care less. For stealing [Name] away from her, she would pay!
Needless to say, Diana should have already known he wouldn't have left her alone. It had easily gotten to the point where she wanted nothing more than for [Name] to die, even as he chased after her.
"Diana! Diana, wait!" the disheveled boy would call out through the abandoned hallway but no matter what, that didn't stop her from ultimately exiting out through the entrance doors and following the gate back to the road.
All she could recall afterwards was that [Name] followed her around everywhere, despite how she demanded to be left alone at one point. Little did Diana know that her wish would soon be granted for at the very last second, an incoming bus came speeding towards her at an uncontrollable rate.
"Look out!" The next thing she knew, the redhead was shoved out of the way and with widened eyes, Diana witnessed the bus crash into [Name].
Later on, he inevitably died.
Right after everybody left the examination room so that Diana could be alone with him, she glared angrily down at his corpse laying peacefully snug within the bed while her trembling fingers wrapped around his frigid hand. It just wasn't fair! How could [Name] do this to her when she loved him so much? She squeezed his palm tightly within her grasp while trying to blink back tears... only for them to flow easily down her cheeks as her shoulders continually shook.
Upon lowering her head, she dropped the mermaid doll [Name] made for her down against the floor.
